A Magic Winter Walk
Just a few weeks after the Light Ragaz’ 2nd summer edition finished, we celebrated the premiere of LIGHT RAGAZ’s winter edition. Due to the fact that the Tamina gorge is not accessible during winter, this edition takes place in and around historically relevant buildings in the village of Bad Ragaz.
Projektil produced a magic winter walk for Bad Ragaz Tourism and the Cantonal Office for Economics and Labour St.Gallen with a corresponding story which is told and visualised over a total of 6 stations.
Visitors experience the millennium flood of Bad Ragaz and begin searching for the lost child in the heart of the worldwide renown spa village. Light Ragaz Winter plunges Bad Ragaz in a sea of lights and narrate the fantastical story of young Paracelsus and his tragical fall into the roaring Tamina river. During the subsequent journey, the walk takes its visitors to the secret of the hot spring water deep inside the Tamina, the home of mystic elemental spirits. Visitors will find themselves inside the old laundry house which was transformed into a fully interactive immersive room that Projektil has realised in collaboration with TecArtLab and a collective of game designers. Wall and floor sensors make it possible to interact with the entire underwater environment and all of its magical creatures.
The fantastic finale is projected on the facade of a 5-story building and plays with the numerous windows of different sizes and shapes which were previously rebuilt in a greenscreen studio during the preproduction phase of the show.
